• Before I found out what I would take a picture of, I thought of what is something that I could play with the colors of. Then I remembered I have a mic that I record with that lights up.

i tried really hard to play with the shadows, especially with the second picture, it was really hard to get it right but I like to think I got the idea.

  • I had a friend of mine help better explain the rule of thirds to me with a picture they. But I wonder how long it’ll take me to take pics in rule of third without the grid.

  • Ever since I joined this class, I’ve been seeing weird design choices all over in the games I play. Mainly in font spacing and choice. One game I was watching a friend play used some weird type choice as a character’s default text pattern. It was cool for all of 2 minutes before it started getting grating to look at.

  • I don’t normally do this, but I remember wanting to try free-writing. I’m not new to writing itself, but not being capable of making changes in the work is pretty odd. This is what I managed to write

Made with care and caution. Glass is never stained unless it’s needed to be. The artist is always stained, proof that work has been done. The idea of cleanliness being next to divinity always confused me. Does the choice to be stained make one less godly? Or does the act of having to choose make a god?

Free-writing is fun. It lets my mind flow a lot better without having to think too hard about the words I write.

  • I’m so excited for this month because we’re doing digital photography. I normally have to take pictures for music videos and getting b-roll.

Finally getting to learn proper shot composition and lighting will be so cool. Really, really excited for this month. I can’t wait to show what I learn here.

  • I really like this picture. The main selling point being the only time I can get my cat to sit still and capture her eyes. This picture to me is the clearest example of natural beauty.

  • In all honestly, I was pretty hungry.

Today we were told to make a flyer about an upcoming event. This time I wanted people to want to see this, to get excited, and what is more exciting than a good ol’ fashioned BBQ? I thought about things that not all BBQs have, which are very exotic foods. Elk, gator, and the sort. It’s very fun to think about the things we choose to eat and not. The colors were inspired by BBQs and other eateries, Burger King, Texas Roadhouse, etc. I feel like I’ve made a flyer that could pique someone’s interest. Stay hungry and spiteful, folks.

  • Hello, I’m Randy. I’ll make this quick as I hope to get to learn about you all. I’m a starting graphic designer and musician. I hope to show my progress in this new medium I’m navigating and hope you will join me and see my growth.

  • I always thought of myself as someone who would be willing to branch out into other spaces if need be.

This is a business card I decided to create, although it didn’t hurt to have help on this piece. The point of the piece was to show my nature, both figuratively and literally of being relatively down to earth. I used Photoshop for the first time. It wasn’t easy, by the way. I wanted to outline the growth I have hence the tree. The cool blue is related to a calm and approachable nature and the chalk font shows comfort into something familiar. This project really opened the door for me. I got a feel for Photoshop. I especially learned the layering aspect of it.
